Hangmans Noose

Popular myth says that a hangman’s noose has to have 13 twist and is banned? Not so. After having talked to an expert on the subject I discovered  that this was false and that it would be a major mistake in the film if one was used. The noose that can be seen below is in fact American and developed during the Wild West era.

The British equivalent is far more simple merely one piece of rope looped around. A small but important feature in a period film.

NOTE: This is not a person but a manekin. No one was hurt in the taking of this picture
